Pears Au Rhum Submit Your Recipe
 
 
Ingredients:

4 pears, peeled and cored

½ cup Wholesome Sweeteners’ Organic Sucanat

2 tablespoons apricot preserves

2 teaspoons lemon juice

3 tablespoons rum

Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
 
Directions :
Halve pears lengthwise.  In a saucepan, combine Sucanat, preserves, ¼ cup water, and lemon juice.  Bring to a boil.  Poach pear halves until tender – about 6 minutes.  Stir in run.  Chill pears in syrup.  When ready to serve, place pears, with syrup, in dessert dishes.  Top with ice cream or whipped cream.
