Mother Linda’s Irish Soda Bread Submit Your Recipe
 
 
Ingredients:

3 cups unbleached flour

1 cup bran

¼ cup wheat germ

4 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. sea salt

¼ cup Wholesome Sweeteners’ Organic Sucanat

¼ cup oil

1 ½ cups buttermilk

 
Directions :
Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.  Make a well in the middle and add oil and buttermilk.  In a circular motion, mix the dry ingredients with the wet.  Turn out onto a floured surface and form into a round loaf.  Lightly cut a cross into the top of the loaf to bless it and prevent cracking.  Place loaf on a greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 375 degrees for approximately one hour.
