Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease a cookie sheet with vegetable oil cooking spray. In a large mixing bowl beat the butter, peanut butter, sugars and egg together. Continue to beat well; stir in the vanilla. In a separate bowl sift the flour, salt and baking soda together, and add to batter alternately with the milk. Stir in the chocolate chips and mix well. Flour hands and form dough into 1 1/2-inch balls.
Place each ball on cookie sheet and flatten with back of spoon. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until browned, and cool on a rack before serving. Yield: 3 dozen cookies.
