Sift the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves into a large mixing bowl, then stir in the molasses sugar. Add the salt and walnuts, then beat in the eggs. Slowly pour in the milk, beating all the time until the mixture is like a paste and is hard to beat. Pour the mixture into a greased, lined loaf pan and cook for about 45-60 minutes until the loaf is cooked through. Let the loaf cool in the pan for a few minutes then turn out onto a wire cooling rack to become cold.
