Lemon Ginger Ade Submit Your Recipe
 
 
Ingredients:

1oz piece of peeled ginger root

5 1/2 cups boiling water

Grated zest from 3 large lemons

Juice from 6 lemons

1/2 cup Billington's Milled Golden Cane Sugar

 
Directions :
Grate a 1oz piece of peeled ginger root into 5 ½ cups of boiling water.  Add the grated zest of 3 large scrubbed lemons.  Squeeze the juice from 6 lemons and add this to the bowl.  Stir in ½ cup Billington’s Milled Golden Cane Sugar and stir well.  Cover the bowl and leave for at least 5 hours or overnight.  Strain the lemonade through a sieve to remove the bits of ginger.  Serve diluted with sparkling mineral water and plenty of ice.  You can add more sugar after sieving, if you prefer it sweeter.
