It's a great way to start the day ... and an energizing and healthy afternoon snack, too.
Ingredients:
1 medium orange 1 large apple 2 small bananas 1 cup water (or ice) 1 TBSP Wholesome Sweeteners Fair Trade Organic Honey or Raw Blue Agave nectar
Directions :
Peel the orange and bananas (remove the "threads" if needed), and core and quarter the apple.
Give the orange a good spin in the blender or food processor, add in the apple, bananas and honey. Pulse for just a few seconds, then add water as needed and give it another whirl until you've attained the perfect smoothie texture.
Makes about 3 cups.

Our friend Domenica Catelli, mom-a-licious.com, suggests peeling and slicing bananas, then freezing them in equivalent packages. If you need a banana in a smoothie, just drop a frozen one in--it'll add nutrients, flavor and texture, and keep things cold!
