Spicy Sliders-June 26, 2008
|

june 26, 2008
|
We love sliders, those mini-burgers that fit so well even on the smallest patio grill or hibachi. They're easy to make ... just grill a small patty of ground meat, slide it onto a biscuit or mini bun, add your favorite cheese, perhaps a bit of grilled onion, a slice of tomato or bacon, then top it all with the perfect sauce.
In celebration of the 4th of July, we offer these recipes for great spicy burger (or barbecue) sauces.
(We bet these delicious homemade sauces will quickly replace store-bought brands in your own pantry.) |

Wholesome's very busy Technical Services Manager has traveled to yet another of Wholesome Sweeteners' suppliers. Where in the world is Joo Hee now?
HINTS: It's one of Wholesome Sweeteners' earliest Fair Trade Certified cooperative partners. The cooperative members invested their first Fair Trade social premiums in drilling a well to bring safe water to their communities. (In the past, water gatherers filled buckets from this river, where crocodiles swim and the water carries various diseases.) For more insights and clues, please visit Wholesome's Fair Trade Certified page.
For a Wholesome Sweeteners gift basket, please tell us where you think Joo Hee is. It's easy: Please send an email to info@OrganicSugars.biz. Be sure to include your name and mailing address, the country Joo Hee is visiting and the product or products made there. Please remember to write "Where in the World" in the subject line. The deadline is 5:00pm, PT, July 3, 2008. Three entries will be randomly selected from among the correct submissions.
Where in the world were our travelers last time?
That's Tulum on the Yucatan Peninsula, one of the Mayans' pre-Columbian temples dedicated to Ah Mucen Cab, the god of bees and honey. (To the ancient ones, "honey" and the "world" were synonymous.)
We look forward to hearing from you! |
