Wholesome News: Visiting our producers

 Come visit ...

Wholesome Sweeteners has a new web site! For those of you who have already browsed our new site, we hope that you've found it to your liking; for those of you who haven't dropped in for a while, we invite you to explore! We hope that our new site will become as comfy for you as a perfect cup of tea with a dear friend ... filled with joy and inspiration.

In addition to a new layout, we've added several great new features.

  • For cooks, we added a new function called My Favorite Recipes in the Recipes section--it's a place to collect your favorite Wholesome recipes.
  • For the curious, we added a searchable Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) feature in the Products section.
  • We added more detail about Wholesome Sweeteners' approach to Fair Trade CertifiedTM products and Environmental Responsibility.
  • And we also added a Search Function ... it's there in the upper right corner of every page. (Please note: the recipe search is still in the Recipe Library.)

As part of the new internet program, we're revamping the Sugar Club as well. Instead of receiving a long newsletter every two months, we'll send out a great new recipe every couple of weeks with news and notes about Wholesome's world. We'll add an occasional contest, introduce you to a new chef or a new product, or perhaps delve into the delicious art and science of cooking.

As always, we'd love to hear from you. Please, drop us a note through the Contact Us form. We're always here at info@OrganicSugars.biz or 1-800-680-1896.

 Golden Granola: Our Featured Recipe

From Chef Mimi Clark. Made with Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Raw Blue Agave, oats, wheat germ, just a touch of cinnamon, and nuts and dried berries added for good measure, Mimi's Golden Granola offers long-lasting energy without spiking your blood sugar. It's the perfect take-along snack for hikes in the woods and across wildflower-filled meadows.

Ingredients
1½ cups organic rolled oats (not quick oats)
¼ cup organic whole wheat flour
¼ cup wheat germ
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon sea salt
½ cup Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Raw Blue Agave
1½ Tablespoon canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
Optional: dried fruit, chopped nuts, unsweetened coconut

Directions
Preheat oven to 300°F.

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except dried fruit. Using hands (gloves help), toss to coat dry ingredients with wet ingredients.

Lightly oil a large baking pan. Spread mixture in one layer.

Bake 15 minutes; stir after 10 minutes.

Watch carefully, especially during last 5 minutes, as mixture can easily burn.

Remove from oven and allow to cool. Add dried fruit, if desired.

Store in covered glass jar in fridge. Best eaten within a week. Double recipe and freeze.
