Christmas Pudding |

December is filled with so many treasures, both given and received. "Gifts" take on different meanings this time of year ... perhaps it really is wrapped in bright paper and a bow, but perhaps it's a laugh and a smile, a cozy walk down twinkling streets on a cold evening, a party warm and bright, or a generations-old family tradition. For many of us, this time of year is warm and generous--but busy.
At Wholesome Sweeteners, we've been busy, too, sorting through recipe collections to find that just-right recipe--several just-right recipes in fact--that are delicious, easy and dazzling; recipes with "tradition" potential; recipes that offer us small windows in busy days to relax and cook, to prepare good food for beloved family and friends.
With an affectionate but decidedly gustatorial nod to lords a'leaping and maids a'milking, we offer 12 (count them!) recipes--from baked goods to beef to beverages that will inspire and nourish you and those you hold dear through December's festivities.

In the rush for the season's sweet things, we sometimes overlook the savory, so to help balance our paletes and our diets, we offer this delicious Marinated Spiced Roast Beef, resplendent with old English overtones. (Often called "Christmas Beef," many spiced beef recipes can be traced back to the UK's Medieval cooks.) It's spectacular with Yorkshire Pudding made from the drippings and lightly steamed green beans.
It's not really much work, but does take a bit of time. It's worth the effort. Every bite proves it!

As you know, the Wholesome Sweeteners Recipe Library now holds more than 750 recipes ... some from professional chefs, but many more from home cooks. In the last year alone, we have added nearly 100 recipes and we are always interested in sharing more!
To celebrate our ever-growing Recipe Library collection, we invite you to submit an original recipe that uses any of Wholesome Sweeteners' products.
Our in-house recipe development team will test and taste the recipes and select one grand prize winner of a shiny new Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer from among the entries. (Two runners up will receive gourmet gift baskets.)
