Job Title:                                Manager of Category Analytics

 

Location:                                Sugar Land, TX

 

Reports to:                             VP of Commercial Development

 

Key Tasks:                     The Manager of Category Analytics will initiate and lead development of key category strategies and champion the discipline of Category Management for the Company.  Activities and expertise will advance brand positioning through identifying and capitalizing on national, regional and customer-specific opportunities. 

 

Primary Objectives:

  • Own the sales, market analytics and shopper insights function for the organization.  Serve as a key internal resource in translating data into actionable brand-building and sales development tools for execution at the customer level. 
  • Manage and coordinate all Category Management deliverables as defined by the project scope.  Manage all necessary elements of the process from data collection, analysis, recommendations, reporting and results. 
  • Lead category initiatives within the Sales Organization.  Prepare and recommend to the VP of Commercial Development retail sales strategies influenced primarily by data and analysis, and based on sound Category Management principles. 
  • Participate as needed with the designated Sales team lead during category reviews at key accounts. 
  • Provide focal point of information flow and communications to and from data sources and the Sales team in coordinating each project and initiative. 
  • Lead development of sales presentations to support brand strategies and category leadership initiatives.

 

Daily Accountabilities:

  • Prioritize specific customer category opportunities and identify best practices to implement commercial strategies at these retailers.
  • Play a pivotal role in developing the discipline of Category Management for the Company and promoting fact-based selling practices within the sales organization.
  • Communicate Category analytics and insights to Marketing, Finance and other internal functions, as well as appropriate Field Sales resources.
  • Develop, update and maintain weekly/monthly reports that track category analytics by product group, geography.  Draw conclusions and communicate these findings and recommendations to senior management. 
  • Define data requirements, scope and analytical know-how in support of schematic development, natural vs. mainline placement, product mix and segment development. 
  • Lead and/or oversee sales presentation development.  Work closely with the designated sales lead to determine project scope, prioritize analyses, project results, and recommend actions. 
  • Serve as the organizational linchpin between external resources (such as Nielsen, Spins, IRI, Spectra, HH Panel data, other databases) and internal customers in the corporate headquarters as well as in field sales offices.
  • Efforts will focus on coordinating projects, day to day communication, and establishing project timelines to meet customer-driven deadlines.

 

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·         BS or BA degree required. 

·         5+ years of sales experience with an emphasis on analytical/research in a CPG company.

·         Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing/providing direction to external resources including syndicated data vendors, or consultants.

·         Hands on experience as Category Manager/Advisor with Shelf Management experience.

·         Excellent computer skills including data base management.

·         Strong analytical skills with hands on use of syndicated data, customer specific sales information, and primary market research.  Strong customer-focused orientation and problem solving skills required.  Ability to think and sell conceptually is required.

·         Ability to manage multiple projects.  Strong working knowledge of the selling and category management process required.

·         Objectivity, and the ability to prioritize available resources, both direct and indirect reports, based on sound, strategic rationale.

·         Competency in: communication, decision making, problem solving, analytical skills, teamwork, developing relationships and leadership.

 

Supervision Required:

Requires independent judgment, good time management skills, and ability to prioritize with minimal supervision.

 

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk and listen. Use of hands to grasp, handle, pick-up and type. Reach with hands and arms. Ability to climb, balance and lift up to 25 pounds.

 

Work Environment: 

Position requires frequent and sometimes urgent travel, and may entail up to 25% overnight travel.

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Responsible to the CFO

 

Wholesome Sweeteners, Inc, is seeking a Human Resources Manager that will have “generalist” responsibilities for the corporate office/production site managing all aspects of the Human Resource function.  This position reports directly to the CFO.  The ideal candidate will be well rounded in HR related projects, benefits and payroll.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook.
  • Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Responds and represents the company for any unemployment, EEOC, DOL claims, subpoenas, medical/child support orders and verification of employment.
  • Implements and monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary; compose job descriptions as necessary.
  • Reports and corresponds with worker’s comp company regarding all injuries, auto, property casualty claims as well as orders certificate of liability for clients.
  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, conducts open enrollment, and communicating benefit information to employees; processes COBRA.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees through staffing agencies; writes and places advertisements, phone and in person interviews, performs reference checks, conducts new employee orientations
  • Handles employee relation issues such as FMLA, LOA, counseling, complaints, harassment investigations
  • Conducts exit interviewing and makes recommendations to management for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as requested.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Maintains personnel files for entire company including filing and storage.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Corresponds with states agencies regarding unemployment and payroll taxes
  • Approves bi-weekly payroll
  • Annually gathers information for workers comp audit and OSHA log report
  • Provides training and assistance to supervisors regarding employment law.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive warehouse and office safety programs.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Computer experience (Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet)
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective oral and written communications
  • Ability to multi-task, research and analyze different types of data

Education and Work Experience:

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification a plus.

 Job Title: Technical Services Manager

Location:  Sugar Land, TX

Reports to: Director of Quality Assurance

 

Brief Description:

This is an important role in the area of Quality Assurance. We are seeking a dynamic, experienced technical manager with a food or pharmaceutical background who can proactively assist in our efforts to continuously improve the value offering to our customers. Located in Sugar Land, Texas, Wholesome Sweeteners is the market leader in Organic and Fair Trade Sweeteners and has been experiencing explosive growth since its inception over 10 years ago. Local Candidates strongly preferred.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or Engineering
  • Work experience of a minimum of  5 years in progressively advancing roles within QA or Technical Services in the food or pharmaceutical industries
  • Experience and in depth knowledge of FDA and/or USDA requirements
  • Past experience in sugar or other sweetener extremely preferable
  • Working knowledge of HACCP and Net Contents control

Accountabilities:

  • Food Safety and Quality technical support for all suppliers, manufacturing sites, and customers
  • Documentation in regards to Quality, Food Safety, Food Security, Organic, Kosher, and technical information
  • Coordination of product documentation in the area of new products and changes to existing products

Responsibilities:

 

Manufacturing Support

  • Primary role is to proactively support Manufacturing in the execution of delivery of Quality and Food Safety to our Value-Added products. Provide technical support for all suppliers, manufacturing sites and customers
  • Responsible for the management for all Operational manuals such as QA, Food Safety, etc.
  • Assist in the review and improvement of the Quality Assurance Manual and the Food Security Manual
  • Maintain software library for company documents, including raw material and finished goods specifications, product data sheets, policies, procedures, forms
  • Responsible for the development of product specifications for all items (including raw materials, finished goods, product data sheets)
  • Coordinates the resolution of customer complaints that are Operational in nature
  • Submits all Kosher and Organic applications for all suppliers, co-packers and co-manufacturers and ensures all certifications are current

New Product Support

  • Proactively contributes to the enhancement, development and review of all new products as well as continuous improvement of current products from a manufacturing perspective. Primary person to be on site for First productions run at all suppliers, co-packers and co-manufacturers
  • Responsible for coordinating the tactical aspects of the new product development process at the manufacturing level
  • All required documentation for the smooth introduction of new items and changes to existing items (New Item Notifications, New Item Set-Ups, etc.)
  • Work with new product or raw material suppliers on the development and application of materials
  • Responsible for the review of all nutritional information for WSI’s products.
  • Responsible for coordination of shelf life studies for new products as assigned

Auditing

  • Conduct documented annual reviews with suppliers and co-packers related to Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, etc. as assigned. Responsible for follow up on deviations found during audits.
  •  Primary person to be on site at Organic Inspections at co-packers’ facilities. Responsible for corrective action letter being sent to QAI for all sites.

General

  • The lead for answering all technical questions related to customer surveys or consumer questions
  • Primary person for interacting with ICIX and/or customer’s technical library
  • Any operational training for the company that is required

Job Title: Imports Assistant

Responsible To: Director of Supply Chain

Location: Sugar Land, TX

Wholesome Sweeteners is the category leader in Fair Trade Certified, Organic and Natural Sweeteners.  The Imports Assistant role is a critical position in our Operations team. 

This role is responsible for ensuring that the documentation and follow up process for all import and export cargo is handled in a timely and efficient manner.  The successful candidate will be a highly motivated independent worker with the ability to solve day to day issues with minimal supervision.  The candidate will work directly with warehouses, carriers and suppliers.  The successful candidate must be able to prioritize workload and manage multiple assignments.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Business or related field preferred
  • 0 -3 years Logistics experience (imports / warehousing / transportation)
  • Works well with numbers and detailed work – enjoys this type of work
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to think and act quickly in a fast pace environment while remaining calm
  • Proficient with MS Office (heavy Excel)
  • Ability to memorize item numbers and codes
  • Experience in using ERP systems
  • Local candidates

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for management of import files including the tracking and recording of key milestones in an ERP and Access database.
  • Responsible for reviewing documentation received from suppliers.  Must understand the key information to look for and ensure the accuracy and completeness of documents.  When errors or discrepancies are identified, must pro-actively work with suppliers to make the necessary corrections. 
  • Responsible for accounts payable activities associated with carrier payment.  Must reconcile rates and manage the timely payment to meet strict deadlines.
  • Responsible for the timely receipt of inbound materials.  Must work closely with receiving locations to accurately reflect quantity and condition of materials in the ERP system.       
  • Responsible for setting up physical import files and ensuring all proper documentation has been included.  Works closely with finance to bring discrepancies to their attention.
  • Understands and works with bonded cargo.
  • Special projects are assigned on a regular basis.  These assignments are under the supervision of the Imports Manager or the Director, Supply Chain.
  • Work with carriers to negotiate spot rates for the domestic transportation.
  • Work closely with warehouses to schedule the inbound and outbound delivery and pick-ups.
